John Lahti

John Lahti is a powertrain advanced controls engineer at the PACCAR Technical Center in Mount Vernon, Washington. He has more than 30 years of experience in the motor vehicle industry, 20 patents related to powertrain control, and 10 published papers. He has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Professional Engineering license from the State of Michigan. Projects at PACCAR includes powertrain electrification, predicted cruise control, adaptive cruise control, engine control, aftertreatment control, and autonomous control. Other work experience includes engine air system controls at John Deere, hybrid controls at General Motors, and engine calibration at General Motors.
